Letters, photographs, press cuttings, invitations, programmes and artefacts of the violinist Philip Newman. The papers cover his whole career as a concert soloist and teacher, which was forged largely overseas - notably in Belgium and Portugal. He was an intimate of Queen Elisabeth of the Belgians and played an active part in the festivals at Prades and Pollensa as well as devoting much of his time to charitable causes.
