Script for a tongue-in-cheek supplement to the Historical Pageant at Carlisle, with scenes as follows: Pretext; King Alfred & the cakes; Canute at Silloth; the formation of the Choral Society; the founding of the Control Board; Epitaph. Each scene has (musical?) chorus following. With 3 stanzas dedicating the pageant to "our beloved "First Lady"", with references to Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, signed Tommy D. Foreword of script signed "Thos Dowell". With pencil sketch of two hatted ladies in snow with captions "Good King Wenceslas looked out" and "And Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these". No student of that name found at NSM or RMCM.
